Orlon is a dangerous place. This was something that was always known, by the lower continent. But for those of the upper continent, it was not known there was even a lower continent. The same was unknown to the lower continent. Fearsome beasts roamed the land, and predators of the air roamed the skies. Even the smallest flier, could take advantage of one's hard fought, smaller meal, if it was enough for them to carry, it was enough for them to take.
One had to be faster than a Restahl, to be able to compete with a Restahl. The Restahl, the predator of the air, to compete with Mauka, the predators of the land. But what if one could work in tandem, with the predator of the land, to compete with the predator of the air?
There was a group, a small group of fifteen hundred, that had found a compromise of lasting proportions. A small tribe of beings that had co-opted to coexist with the predators of the land. The predators of the land, were large, hulking beasts of a creature, that ran on six limbs, with a powerful tail, and six occular centers to be able to compete with a Restahl that could be lurking from behind. The pattern of six, is closely associated with these creatures, as their scales are natural points of contact armour, being fully hexagonal, if not seemingly unnaturally hexagonal. Powerful hooves gripped the terrain, and hard scales, covered in soft fur prevented Restahl attacks, while also keeping environmental protection at the same time.
Smooth tones of grey coverd these beasts, like the clouds above during a storm. But something was different about these beasts of collaboration. Their scales were not thinner, but were patterned more tightly, leading to a sleeker appearance, in addition to having a physically slimmer form. The most striking feature that would cause one to potentially mistake them for a different species, if one did not match biological features, would be the colour of their scales and fur.
These beasts had scales and fur that were shades of the forests of Orlon themselves, blue, blue and more blue. But one advantage that these blue beasts had over their cloudy counterparts, was their agility. These beasts of the forests, could run at speeds over three times as fast, run twice as far, and strike four times as fast with their hooves, tail, and fangs.
The name of these deadly creatures, is that of Mauka.
Mauka of the Land, Mauka of the Forest... but what would a winged Mauka, a predator of the land, granted flight, be like?
Perhaps, there was a compromise in the way of the tailed warriors adapted.
Wood, fibre, stone. Made into an arc.
But what were these creatures of the land that collaborated together?
They were that of the Ukin.
In the tribe of Ukin, beings that were as golden as the star itself, Mornaig to them, beings that were as tall as Mauka themselves were at the shoulders, existed with the landscape itself, delving into the forest for fruits and smaller beings.
There were many curiosities besides the fauna of the landscape.
The flora, to ones familiar with rounded, geometric shapes, would seem wholeheartedly unfamiliar. Hexagonal leaves, around six leaves flowers. Six branched trees, and varying subdivisions and multiplations of six, three branches, twelve branches, but never an odd amount of branches, always multiples and subdivisions of specifically six.
But to those whom found themselves fascinated with sequences and numerology... one would find a hidden number in nature. Seven. A number itself written in the very celestial bodies visible to Orlon itself.
Mornaig, itself, was home to seven spheres surrounding a large eigth sphere. Orlon, was the sixth sphere from the last in the seventh sphere. Orlon itself housed two spheres in its heavens, Ayastal and Heilach.
Ayastal, was an orbiting sphere that reflected its surface composition like a jewel in the night sky. Deep hues of crimson and orange could be distinguished through a farviewer, but during certain celestial alignments, the red gem of the night was visible to all who gazed upon its beauty in the night sky. What causes Ayatsal to shine so brilliantly, the colour that so many creatures shed on planet Orlon?
Then there is Heilach.
Heilach, the closest, first sphere. The primordial egg. Would not it be interesting if the tribes of Orlon, if all of the ones that are as tall as Mauka, came from Heilach?
But that could be the same for those with scales of red, matching Ayastal.
Heilach, and Ayastal, together, when in just the perfect configuration, created a golden glow, a halo around each other, making both colours indistinguishable.
Green and Red-Orange light, bent to create a light that is just as glorious as Mornaig.
Perhaps this is why those of the MornaigScale, that of the Ukin tribe, were seemingly fated to be revered. Scales of gold, a configuration that if the two spheres truly were the origin, brought into question how scales of gold could have been created. For their scales are not the colour of the spheres of the night, but the singular sphere of the Mornaig.
